![]() ![]() Personally, in my opinion, even if it was on there for a few days and you swapped it out I’d think you’d be fine. This concerned me as well so I tried to make sure that the gateway was never installed in the first place on the new account. The next day, I confirmed with online chat (so I could get it in writing) that my monthly bill is $58.50 ($55 for gig price for life + $3.50 network fee).Ģ. I had no issues with activating the CM8200 with the gigabit plan either. When the tech came, I got an actual optimum tech, he didn’t care at all and just connected my CM8200 modem and never opened up the gateway box. Even when you order it online, there’s no option to uncheck it. There’s no point in arguing with them as it’s a requirement in placing the order. I just said, OK and had them go on with the order. They’ll tell you that you have to use their gateway. I was charged up front for the $10/month gateway rental along with first months service and installation. So there is no way to request optimum to send a TM3402 ? Will bridge mode on the UBEE get rid of the double nat ? Parents still want the triple play so essentially when we get this price we can not change any of the equipment or the price can increase right ?ġ. Ooma) that won't tie you to Optimum and their equipment requirements, and just get PFL for internet and TV.Thank you for the very useful info. If the phone line is a necessity, I'd recommend porting to a third-party VoIP service (e.g. you don't get to change the equipment at your discretion. If you can switch accountholders to your spouse to get a new customer Price For Life deal, you have to remember there are service and equipment requirements to keep the Price for Life in force. When the taxes and fees are added, this package would save about $60 over your current package. Customers have reported being able to double-NAT with the UBEE. ![]() The TM3402 is now reportedly carrier-only (according to what Arris has told other posters here at DSLR), so the odds of finding one are very low. The TM1602 can not be used for 1 Gig service because it's not a DOCSIS 3.1 modem. How easy is it to return the UBEE, stay on the 1gig plan and use my own modem? Does returning the UBEE kick me off the 1Gig plan or make me ineligible for it?Īny suggestions you all have would be much appreciated.įrom what I understand, you would only get the UBEE gateway and the two Altice Mini boxes - the UBEE distributes the TV signal to the Minis. Is bridge mode on the UBEE now easy to request/configure?ħ. Can the ARRIS TM1602 be used on the 1Gig plan?Ħ. Why can’t I find the ARRIS TM3402 anywhere online?ĥ. Does the Altice One box support bridge mode? Any issues with double NAT etc?Ĥ. Is the Altice one box a router/modem as well? Completely separate from the UBEE UBC1322 product ? Is one preferred? In my case if so which is the better solution?Ĥ. Will 1Gig plan require UBEE UBC1322 or Altice One Box? Can you choose which you get?ģ. Can you upgrade to Altice one but keep older Samsung Cable Boxes?Ģ. Is it possible to upgrade to Altice one plan but keep the current Samsung cable boxes?ġ. We have smart TV's and NVDIA shield for that. What choices do I have to retain optimum voice and use my own router/modem on the 1gig plan? Settle for the UBEE UBC1322 optimum provides and hope they can successfully enable bridge mode? If I gave up optimum voice whats he next best modem to get? I assume Altice one by default comes with the UBEE modem or is this a wrong assumption? To be honest I don't need Altice One Boxes. I would rather purchase the Arris TM3402 (DOCSIS 3.1) since I have optimum voice but I cannot find this modem anywhere online. It seems optimum is giving out the new UBEE UBC1322 from my readings on the forums but this modem seems problematic and getting bride mode is hit or miss. It seems the situation is similar to FIOS where the cable boxes needed the modem so in the past on FIOS we activated bride mode and just disabled internal WiFi for the modem box. Have a nice ASUS router running custom merlin firmware and would rather keep that than using optimums equipment, I know their stuff may lack certain features I currently use like OpenVPN support, DDNS, VLAN's etc. Currently we purchased our own modem to avoid the $10 monthly surcharge and have a ARRIS TM1602 and 2 Samsung cable boxes. However, I see you now have to migrate to Altice's new equipment. Was looking at pricing for new customers and we can get a similar deal with the benefit of 1gig internet for around $140. Looking to cut down on costs and was going to give them a call. Hi Everyone, recently had our Optimum bill increase $20 to reach $212 for Optimum 200/ Voice/ Optimum Preferred cable package. ![]()
